A Trusted Lodge and Charter Fishing Business

A Trusted Lodge and Charter Fishing Business

Predators Charter and A.K. Kodiak B&B was started when a childhood dream become
reality. My name is Richard Cassar and along with my wife are the proud owners of A.K.
Kodiak B&B and Predators LLC Charter.

When it started: Some are born with a silver spoon in their hand, I was born with a fishing
pole ! I as told I started fishing on a curb as the rain water went by. As I grew, my dad
took us to the mountains to camp and fish for trout or on the charter boats out of Half
Moon Bay in California. I grew up always loving the outdoors, fishing and camping. Like
many though, my dream was to come to Alaska. The first time I made it to Alaska was in
1998. I continued to visit Alaska, different camps, islands and destinations. I loved it.
But when I visited Kodiak Alaska for the first time 20 years ago, it was love at first sight
(very much like when I met my wife).

I met Alla in 2010. I had been coming to Kodiak for seven years and shared my dream
with her of owning a home and a charter boat at some point in the future. That future
started in the summer of 2011 when Alla and I spent 3 months in Kodiak. We began our
journey of starting a Charter and Lodging business when Alla found us a home. We
purchased the home and as they say, the rest is history. Well a bit about that history……

I began as a deck hand on Runnamuck Charters. While I was on the water, Alla ran the
home in Chiniak, located 37 miles outside of town.

In 2015, Captain Ken and I put to work, “Okeah’s Toy”. A 33ft Cold Water manufactured
Charter boat built in Marysville WA. We helped design the boat so it has a few unique
features that have improved our boating experiences.

In 2020 we moved from the borough and now work out of a 5 bedroom home right in town.
Alla has wonderfully decorated the home. Each room is spacious, comfortable, and warm.
Each room and wall has unique Alaskan art and feel.

Over the years, we also added our children: Okeah and Adele to our team. We are a
family owned and operated business. Although we have a 6 pack charter license, we cater
to groups of 4 or less. We welcome families with children. We have had fun with a bunk
bed room that has an additional double bed. We ask visitors, to bring stickers from their
home town to add to the bunk bed growing allure.

We fell in love with Kodiak like so many do. We love sharing Kodiak with our family,
friends and clients. Whether it be fishing, processing, sight seeing, sharing a meal or
sharing story. We look forward to being your fishing guide and your home while you are
visiting Kodiak Alaska. We are here to make your vacation dreams come true.

Sincerely,
Richard and Alla Cassar
